Also, what does everyone think of offering the 2 new Tier 12-18 scenarios as six hour slots? If we don't get any takers as the GM, I can replace them with some more specials/exclusive scenarios if people need to get more specials for their star GM ranking.

Yes, level 1 is fine. You might want to bring a level 2 version of your character as after the first game, your character should level up to 2nd level.
