Walt, from my side chats with Christian, I believe that since this is being run in campaign mode, he's just using PFS character rules for the purposes of limiting some of the more broken feats/builds.

The 6000 gp is not in addition to the 150 starting gold (it's included) and the item cost limit is just a number Christian decided on for balance purposes.

But don't take my word as gospel, that's just my understanding from what I've talked about with him.

Zach nailed it. PFS rules since it's easily accessible & well known to everyone and cuts down on the power creep (but not the cheese, lol). 6000 gp total to start. Max purchase of 2500 gp on single items. Don't worry about Fame, Prestige, day jobs, and factions if you're making a custom 4th level PC. None of that is relevant to the campaign. Except profession: sailor, which may be useful.

Even though the player's guide that I linked is for the Skull & Shackles AP, the items & traits are a perfect fit -and suggested to use- for Plunder & Peril.

Edit: the S&S player's guide does give a list of useful skills. Those are all good except siege weapons which will not be used. Also, pay no attention to the final paragraph under each trait (the part about why you came to The Formidably Maid). Just select a trait that suits your PC.

For those of you having problems printing the S&S player's guide, try printing every page except the first page/cover. This seems to work.

Some have mentioned what classes they plan on playing so i will put them after their names on the original post. It's still early so they might change. Just let me know what you decide on playing when possible.

The table is already filled. I can list you as a second alternate in case of drop outs.

Mike W., Matt M., and Rafael L.,

I sent you all a PM several days ago and have not heard back from any of you. Please get back to me on whether you are still interested and if you have ideas on a PC or have already made a PC.

Thanks,
Christian Dragos

Chris,

My apologies, I kept forgetting to get back to you...

I am either between a Swashbuckler or a Gunslinger... not sure of what race though... I haven't built it as of yet.

Ideas are welcome though.

A swashbuckler, or any of the archetypes, would be good. Picaroon? Mouser? Flying blade? Maybe even the Corsair* archetype of the cavalier?

Nice to see someone is actually making a pirate themed PC.

Edit: I mean Daring Champion cavalier archetype.*

I like it! A Corsair it is!

Thank you Chris!

A cavalier (daring champion) is better than corsair. Take a look at that.

I will be posting an almost final line up in a few days after Christmas. Which means, Mike and Matt, that your spots may be given to alternates if I don't hear from you two by then.

The sooner anyone can send me a pdf of their PC, the better. I'd like to see what you guys are playing...
And what I'm about to put myself through as the GM. ;)

Happy Holidays!
Christian D.

A little update for everyone...

Mike & Matt! I've been trying to get a hold of you two for quite some time. This will be the final announcement to hear back from either of you about playing. Sorry to do this, but, if you do not post in this thread or PM (or email) me by 3pm tomorrow (Dec 30th) then your spots will be forfeit and given to Doug & Tim.

So far I have received a pdf of William's & Walt's PCs. (Thank you. Both are very well done).

Everyone else, send me your PCs soon!
