CSprings - Petrie's Family Games - 9/22 Playtest Player Signup

Post by ESParker » Mon Sep 10, 2018 8:05 pm

Greetings Fellow Pathfinders/Starfinders,

I am Eric Parker, and I am now accepting player signups for the session at Petrie's Family Games for September 22nd.

IMPORTANT: To sign up please email me directly at Mailto://Computerpro82@gmail.com <--Clicking this link will cause your email program or smart phone to generate an email directly to me. Simply hitting 'reply' to this email (the one generated by the announcement) will NOT get your email to anyone. Alternatively you may post a reply in the thread on RockyMountainPFS.com that was generated by this announcement.

Players at Petrie's are not required to pay to play, but a $2 per player per session (modules count as two sessions) contribution to store credit for the GM is recommended. This should not be considered a barrier to players who can't afford the contribution.

GMs also receive a $5 store credit for running a successful game. This will be given per session, and it is only given for a scheduled, publically accessible store event (no pick up games, no private sessions.)

If you want to sign up, just let me know by replying to this thread or emailing me at computerpro82@gmail.com. Anyone who wants to GM any future games can also contact me.

On the second and fourth Saturdays in September, I plan to run the Pathfinder Second Edition Playtest. The discussions on the Paizo message boards (http://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo5lkxl?Pathfinder-Society-3-Organized-Playtest) have some recommendations for the Playtest, including making your own characters in the first scenario and leveling them up for some of the later scenarios. I will post additional links as I find them (or other people send them to me.)

Version 1.2 of the Rules Errata is out.

Playtest materials are out on the web!
I have extracted the character creation rules from Doomsday Dawn, so those of you who don't want to even open the scenarios can still get the right character creation done.
Link to Character creation specifics for this scenario https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Fqm3jNSfBdebjMf3mGSKXCyA7SgVrqbHEsAPXwMxkhE

I also encourage everyone to post their character concepts (ancestry, background and class) for the others to look at prior to the game.

Trystan, Miriam and myself are in.

Although I'm finding that monks probably aren't my thing in PF2, at least in the playtest. Would it be alright if I make someone else?

Hi RC,
I am OK if you want to try a different character that follows the playtest rules (specific backgrounds, etc.) I know they want the same characters, but those characters were created in haste without a full understanding of how the system works, and we all still want to have fun.

Chris's post reminded me to check the link in the original post to the scenario specific character creation rules. It was not working when I checked, but should be working now.
Chris is correct that this should use the 9th level version of your original characters, with exceptions as have been requested.

Hi, Eric,

I never made a 1st level character to play at Petrie's (I GM'd that session). Would you like me to use my Bard from the Enchanted Realms playtests, or could I create a new character from whole cloth?

Thanks,
Jim K

Hi Jim,
Whichever you prefer, but remember the characters for this adventure have to use the backgrounds from the Doomsday Dawn book, not the ones from the rulebook.
