Seems creating characters is extremely simple in 2.0, especially so for 1st level characters. From what I can tell, you really can't make wrong choices (well, I'd recommend not giving your rogue a greatsword, but other than that...). All the rules for creating characters are in the downloadable rulebook from paizo.com (link on the homepage). The backgrounds available are in the module which Eric has already posted a download for which summarizes character creation.

If you still need help, feel free to contact me or Eric in the DMs (or if you'll be at Enchanted Realms tonight (Wednesday) I'll be there). Arriving early is somewhat complicated as the event starts when Petrie's opens.

I have added Megan to the standby list, but with the potential for 13 players, I would really like to have another GM volunteer. The scenario is written for tables of four players, and I am afraid we won't get good data for the playtest with two tables of six or seven players.

A friend was able to help me cobble together 2 characters; a Human Paladin and a Goblin Monk.

If anyone wants to meet at that coffee shop next to the store 20 minutes early to review my characters I'd greatly appreciate. I can buy the coffee.

I really really would rather play. I did peak at the first few pages of the first chapter to see what's in store, and ultimately I just have more questions. I can GM if it has to be done, but would rather much play as I'm GMing every other gathering this month. As I understand there are rules in the bestiary for adjusting the difficulty of encounters for accommodate for larger or smaller groups, but that said I don't understand exactly how that works. Something about an XP budget.

If I'm playing though, I have an update to my character concept: Half-elf monk Pathfinder hopeful. His name is Tsuto Kaijutsu.

If more players show up than expected I'll GM and try to be prepared without actually reading the module.

RC, you are awesome and we appreciate your flexibility!

I started working the encounter adjustments from the Bestiary for additional players. We have a few people signed up from outside our normal pool of players, so we will see how many people actually show up tomorrow.

Okay, quick version or character concept: Goblin Sorcerer with the Mind Quake background.

I have the whole background written down in longer form, and it makes perfect sense, at least to me... I can post it here or just bring it tomorrow. :)

First: Eric, move me to the second table GM, please (assuming we have enough players for 2 tables).

My table didn't have a particularly balanced party, but they still succeeded in their mission (albeit with a casualty). I think our players should decide which table they want to play at and co-ordinate at that level to make balanced parties for the upcoming chapters, especially with some of the character restrictions.

I created a folder on my Google drive https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-5nF_n9nc6lqXovsIQ9rVEvbpwdnV5Cl for the playtest.

There's a word document where I wrote up all the upcoming character creation notes. There's an excel spreadsheet with the basic ABC (ancestry, background, class) options. There's also a fillable pdf of the character sheet that someone made. Note: there are at least 3 errors I've found on the sheet: the class DC and AC are short by 10 (it looks like he didn't add 10 to the formula). There are also some wonky lines in the spell list - three lines duplicate whatever is put into one of them.

Thanks,
Jim K

I'd like to keep my options for the next game open, but right now I have a goblin druid scout with some kind of cat companion in the works. If we feel we need something a bit more martial I can switch to ranger but I would like to try out animal companions as I think they are useless and just want to prove myself wrong.

Oh, Eric, I found the confirmation about how summoning spells work on page 195. So yes they can be used in the round they are summoned, but just sit there in later rounds unless the caster concentrates.
