Welcome, Pathfinders!

This is the announcement for January 2020. A new year, a new edition! And, with that, we have a somewhat new format at The Wizard's Chest... More PFS 2e for those new players just starting out or those that missed a few in the past! We'll be offering the first PFS2e scenario (which is replayable with a new PC each time), with new players being given priority to seats. I made an announcement on Facebook to get new players, btw. Simply post in this thread to get a spot at a game. As always, please leave a real name when signing up! Games are $2 to play except for first time players. This helps the GM cover costs for time spent prepping & additional supplies (maps, minis, etc...).

Sunday, Jan. 5th 1-5pm
Table 1:

#1-01 The Absalom Initiation (tier 1-2)
A new era is beginning for the Pathfinder Society, with new recruits and new factions all excited to build connections and embark on grand adventures. The PCs are among these recruits invited to attend a welcoming party where they can meet both the old guard as well as the up-and-coming leaders. But the party's not all talk; the PCs learn of four exciting escapades in Absalom, through which they can kick off their adventuring careers! Replayable. Priority given to first-time players.

Sunday, Jan 19th (1-5pm) - CANCELED
Table 2:
#1-09 Star-Crossed Voyages (tier 3-6)
The Pathfinder Society is called upon to aid the fledgling nation of Vidrian! As the PCs sail beyond the edge of the Inner Sea and into the waters off the coast of southern Garund searching for new trade routes to connect Vidrian with new allies, the PCs find themselves amongst the iruxi, a civilization of lizardfolk astrologists. While the iruxi themselves seem to be likely allies, other forces stir in the nearby jungles, and if the PCs hope to return north with news of a newly charted route, they will need to first face an ancient evil whose presence complicates navigating the treacherous ocean ways.

Happy Double-Crit Year!

I can either play or GM table #2. If someone else wants to GM it cause they don't have anything in tier, that works. Otherwise, I'm happy to GM if we can get enough level 3-6 players!

Please sign me up for Table 2 on the 5th. Are those two tables both from 1-5pm?

Final installment of the Cult of Lissala campaign arc added to the 19th.

I'm taking suggestions for a scenario on the 19th. If anyone wants to GM something, just leave a post.

The above has changed. We’re gonna run it at EG so we can go long. Christian will update the post later today.

If you are still doing #1-01 The Absalom Initiation (tier 1-2) I can play a bard.

If Table 2 doesn't get enough players, I'd be fine with replaying The Absalom Initiation with a 1st level Fighter that hasn't played it yet. Perhaps Zach and William may do the same to get a party of four? However, if Table 2 does fill up, I'd prefer to play Star-Crossed Voyages. Either way, I plan to attend. And Zach, as a reminder, we can transfer my MMM orders. Thanks!

Most likely, we'll play Star Crossed if we dont get any beginners for table 1.

I'm happy to go either way -- let's find out what level character(s) Doug has, so we can see if he's going to be in tier for Star-Crossed. If not, I got a new PC I'm ready to play at level 1! :D

I only have a 1st, needing one more game to make 2nd. If you switch me to the other table I will have to play a pre-gen. I would prefer to play Ezren, the wizard.

So it sounds like William and Paul will play either table, Doug only has in tier for Table 1 and I’d love to play my new level 1 rogue. I spoke with Christian earlier — if we don’t get additional signups for either table, we will kill table 2 (tentatively reschedule for third Sunday) and play table 1.

Ha! I might be psychic. I thought we may go with Absalom Initiation, and so decided to sign up for Star-Crossed Voyages at GenghisCon. I am excited to replay AI with my 1st level Fighter, because it seems like a rich Scenario that went untapped the first time I played it. I've also signed up to play it again with Tonya at GC, but with a new 1st level Bard I'm creating. I vote we go with Table 1 for Doug. See what William wants, but I think he has a whole portfolio of characters created.
